Laura's Mommy Journal: Oh, card games are games of chance???

UNO was a big hit during our last beach trip so I've been keeping my eyes out for other card games for this year's beach trip. During the spring school carnival, our family won a raffle basket from a local toy store and it included a pirate card game called "Argh!" The boys LOVE it and it is incredibly easy to play, even easier than UNO.

On a recent Target trip (first rule of parenting: there is always a recent Target trip), I perused the card section and found a Fruit Ninja card game. The boys love the video game Fruit Ninja so I bought the card game. In the game, you "slice" the deck and then decide whether to take a card that might contain a bomb or hope it is fruit. At any point, you can stop and keep all your fruit, or you can keep going to try to amass enough fruit to win the whole game.

Alex's strategy: get a couple of pieces of fruit and then stop. Stop. STOP! Cautiously, slowly, build up fruit in a safe manner.

Nate's strategy: Always let it ride. Keep going. GO BIG OR GO HOME.

Yet one more answer to the eternal twin question "Are they different?" Yes, they even gamble differently.
